The Auditing system is able to monitor changes in any of the above, indicating to the system manager by exception; any changes between consecutive audits. This list is by no means exhaustive and will be expanded.
Reporting
- File List - This report is a list of all files paths, including authorisation details for a particular PC. Note that this report can consume huge amounts of paper. Try it with one PC selected first.
- Database Statistics - This report gives summary information relating to the database i.e. File information, Events, PC's, etc. it is similar to the database statistics screen available from the view menu.
- File Listing - Prints the entire contents of the file database including authorisation information. This report can be quite large, depending on the number of files in the database. Various filters and sort options are provided to reduce the size and order of the report.
Sort and filter options are used to reduce the amount of information that is printed. The show options let you look at a particular usage. They are only used in the file list report. - Event Log - The event log report is a chronological list of all events. Events are selected or de-selected depending on your requirements. The event database is usually quite large. If options are incorrectly set, large amounts of paper will be consumed.
The event selection options are used to reduce the amount of information that is to be printed. The options are only used in the event log report. The volume of data in this report is normally quite large. Careful consideration must be given to the options chosen, in particular the date window. It is advisable to select print to window first to see how big the report is. - PC Overview - This report prints a brief list for all the PC's in the database, giving Name information, registered package totals, etc. The report may include all PC's or a single Department.
- PC Details - This report prints the information for each computer. The information includes, user, audit, file, and disk information. There is also any notes that may be attached.
- File Xref - This report is a complete cross reference of all the packages in the database against their usage for each PC.
- Department List - Provides a list of departments, departmental manager's names, e-mail addresses and telephone numbers.
- Profile List - Provides a summary of profile information.
- PC Configuration - This provides a hardware report, giving bios settings, device information, Memory the PC has etc. This report gives similar information to the tree view in the hardware selection on the PC details screen.
